Disney Trip

I am slow on getting this up, but better late than never right? So we were supposed to go camping during Harlee's Harvest Break, which is the first two weeks of October. We had our trip all planned and then the weather decided that it was going to be a high of 28 degrees and a low of 15 degrees....not really my idea of fun camping. On the Thursday before we were supposed to leave Rick called and said "price Disneyland." I thought there was no way, but we figured out a way to make it work. We didn't tell the kids we were going and wanted to see how far we could get down the road before we told them. We put them in the car at 4:00 a.m. and they were like "where is the camper mom?" We told them that we were going to have to go and do something for dad's work first and then get to stay in a hotel and then we would go camping. They were totally game and rode in the car for 16 hours without complaining, asking where we were going, or hardly speaking at all. A miracle I KNOW! We got to the ocean when it was really late due to a wreck on the freeway and so we didn't get to show them too much of the water. We got to the hotel and the kids were asleep so we put them to bed. We got them up the next morning at 6:00 so that we could get to the park on time. We told the kids to go and look out the window to see if they could figure out where we were. We could see the big Disney Ferris Wheel. They didn't now, so we told them to go and look in the backpack. We had stashed Harlee's Cinderella dress and Trayton's Incredibles outfit in there. They got them out and were still confused. We said to them where would be the best place to wear these and Harlee was like "Well Disneyland of course" and Rick says "where do you think you are" and Harlee says "Dad I don't know (in her annoyed voice). Rick says "think about it" and then it sunk in and it was crazy from there. We had so much fun. We spent 3 days at Disneyland and California Adventure. We got rained on the first day, poured on the second day, and had sunny skies the last day, while everyone at home was getting snow. The rain was horrible. We wore raincoats and we were still wet to our thighs. The kids never complained once and we were able to see a ton of characters because they brought them inside of the buildings. Just as we were about to give in that day the skies cleared and we were able to walk onto almost all of the rides. We got to ride so many rides and were so glad we stuck it out. The kids had so much fun on the trip. I have so many stories that I could just go on and on. I hope this is a "mystery trip" that they will never forget.
