Thanksgiving

We had a very good Thanksgiving. This year we went over to Burley to have Thanksgiving with Rick's mom and Bill. As always, Lou cooked way too much food for the six of us. We had ham and turkey, salads, rolls, pies, dressing, and potatoes and all the fixings. She always goes above and beyond and we love her and appreciate her for that. After dinner we went to a house in Rockcreek. We didn't know where we were going exactly and Bill stayed home sick, so we got a little misplaced, because we weren't lost! Thank goodness for my GPS in the phone, we found our way. When we got to this house it was so cool. They put up tons of lights and had hundreds of decorations in their yard. We got out of the car and walked through all of it. He had turned his garage into a display of his village and had a nativity display in another building. I really appreciate the people that take the time to do these kinds of displays for us to enjoy. The next day was Lou's birthday, so we went to breakfast and then went back to the house. I helped her put up her village and Rick played Christmas carols on the player piano for us. I love the music the piano makes. When we got home we put up our Christmas tree and my village and other decorations. I love Christmas time.

We missed seeing the Higgins family this weekend and missed taking part in their traditions. I hear that dad got the truck really stuck while getting a tree and mom went into the woods with the girls and cut down a very large tree probably the best one ever, leave it to the girls. Sounds like tons of fun and sad we missed it. This is by far my favorite tradition.

Saturday turned into another winter storm and we woke up to more snow on Sunday. We went to church for Sacrament and then they canceled the rest of the meetings. While getting ready for church Trayton was singing a song and I asked him what he was signing and he said something I didn't understand. So I said, oh I don't know that one. He said, "I am a Child of God, you know it's about my church" He is so sweet and precious.

After church the snow was about 5 inches deep on top of what we already have. It is so beautiful. I love having a white Christmas. We came home and plowed and plowed to get the driveway cleaned out and Rick pulled the kids behind the 4-wheeler in their sleigh. It was lots of fun. Later in the evening a family down in Rockford came up to see if we could help them clean out their driveway. Rick went down and said that they had 4 foot drifts in their driveway. It took them quite awhile to get it cleaned out.

I am so grateful this time of the year for my family and great friends. I am so blessed and love each one of you.
