This last weekend we met my mom and dad in Salt Lake for the car show. It was a really good show and there were tons of cars for us to look at. Mom and dad have decided to restore mom's Mustang and they were needing some ideas. Rick has also been putting alot of time into my car trying to get it ready for summer. We were all in need of some "inspiration" and a bit of sunshine. We were able to see about 8 different cars the same body style as mine and the place was loaded with Mustangs, so we had plenty to look at. The kids were so good and I was so proud of them for hanging in there with us. They heard over the loud speaker that "Doc Hudson" was at the car show. Harlee drug us through the cars as fast as possible in pursuit of him. We finally found him and they were both so excited. Grandma and Grandpa made sure that they got a picture with him.
The car that Rick is restoring for me is a 1948 Ford. This is the same as the "Grease Lightning" car so we couldn't resist a picture with it as well.
The bikers at the car show gave the kids a tattoo. They have a group called BACA (bikers against child abuse). Their tattoo is their symbol. Trayton thought it was great and had to show everyone his "tat" of course he had to flex his muscle to give the full effect. What a stud!We had such a great time and it was so fun to spend some time one-on-one with my parents. We love them so much. After the show we went out to Uncle Roger's bakery for some special order mint brownies. Mom asked Harlee if she had ever been to a bakery and Harlee said no. When we walked through the door Harlee said "what is that smell?" We all laughed and said "that is the bakery". The treats were as delicious as expected. We headed over to Uncle Roger's house and had a great time visiting with everyone and catching up. Neither of the kids wanted to leave and thought they would just stay with Aunt Delone forever (I remember having these same thoughts as a child). It was a fantastic day.
It has been quite awhile since I have done an update on "my car". Rick has been working very hard on it and is hoping to have it running by summer. I am so excited for it and am so proud of him for the amazing job that he does on it. Here are some pictures of how the car is looking right now.
